This thread is amazing! I'm a mere noob, and the before and afters really help me understand what can be done with software. Dr Lazarus's aquarium shot and final image are incredible! Scatterbrained's editing of the Duesey is sweet! Almost every set had my jaw on the floor in astonishment. The images that required recreation of objects (the lion, the grandkids, the wedding, etc.) are all done so well,

I've been trying to edit a pic of my daughter, and extract her from the background, and I can see I have a long way to go to make it look good.

I'd love to know how many minutes/hours/days of editing these took. And I'd love to understand/learn the process of shadows and reflections.

Truly amazing transformations! Thanks you TijmenDal for starting this thread!

If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?

Until I scrolled down, I thought the first shot was the original! Nice work!

Hey, it's not so much how much time it takes to do an edit, it's the time and life you devote to learning how to do the work!

There are two places that offer excellent courses on a month-to-month "subscription" basis. Lynda.com and KelbyTraining.com, and I'd encourage you to invest at least a month in one of them and then take it from there!

Thanks a lot for the kind words. This is the EXACT reason why I started this thread: to show what is possible.

As for your problem of selection, I find this tutorial was very helpful for me. The part that's interesting starts at 11:34
http://www.youtube.com …ndex=3&feature=plpp_video (external link)
It uses Alpha channels to make selections.

This reminds me of all the "come at me bro" memes doing the rounds recently.
