Love it!

Was that for an Album cover or something?

Thanks mate! No, it was just for my 52 week project...which I'm well behind with! :D

Rather simple fix but I am always impressed when it works.

Agreed. Multiple shots make for much better family photos. I usually have to blend 2-3 shots to get everyone looking their best. I did a company photo recently and a church group where it took 5+ to get a final image with everyone with their eyes open and no weird faces.

My most manipulated portrait photo. Had to go with the gif version as it best shows the changes... :)

That's pretty dramatic, "495" -- did it please her? There are a couple "schools of thought" on dramatic portrait retouching -- the "glamor" retouching that does like the above, and then the folks who are much more conservative, leaving enough of the "real" look of the "model" so that she doesn't take possible offense...

'Course a solid makeup job would have much the same effect:)!

She hasn't seen it and I don't plan to show this to her, ever. :)

No makeup artist on hand, so...^^^

Ah, well if you don't show it to her, I guess it's just your "artistic license" at work -- more power to ya!

I wouldn't either. I think a lot of women (and probably men as well) don't really realize just how touched up the photos that they're looking at in glamour and fashion magazines really are.

Cheers,

This was my first attempt at manipulation toward improving a photo. I used Photoshop CS6. I learned a ton.

Don't want to put down your work but the girls teeth look fake.

I always try to match teeth color to the white's of the eyeballs. :)

I think this is pretty good. The eyebrow lift is a very nice touch as it adds more "personality".

Probably best to take the pp on the eyes down a touch. And IMHO, I would never take out freckles - one, to make it look more natural and two, 'cos I've got a thing for 'em. Cannot resist a girl with freckles. ;)

I'm at work now so will have to go from memory :D : -

CS5: -
Import background and foreground as smart objects.
Cut myself out and paste onto background.
Refine mask.
Colour match.
Correct distortion on legs due to wide angle (24mm) - legs appeared too skinny > using tranform tool and masking.
Clone out lampost.
Some levels/curves adjustments.
Add reflection in sunglasses [can't remember blend mode] > Transform tool and warp tool on reflection > gradient on mask.
Dodge and burn on face and jeans using a 50% grey layer.
Added subtle flare from nearest lights on background.
Ran a Nik filter.
Curves adjustment.
High pass sharpening on soft light blend mode.

LR4: -

Added a little more contrast.
Reduced some noise in sky.
Slight split toning.

Back to CS5: -

Added "Week 16" text > rasterised layer > transform tool
Played with layer blending style to add emboss, etc.
Added black bars.

Hope that helps. :)
