I mainly use my 40mm stm for street photography. It is lightweight, discreet, and sharp.
When I seek to shoot candids and portraits, I use my 100L. I don't find a need to shoot faster than f2.8 very often.
I want the subject and the context. I shoot environmental portraits more than studio-style portraits.

I do a lot of outdoor available light portraits with the 135L on my 5D mkII and I try to stay around 1/200 or above.

This one is at 1/250:

This is even below at 1/125 (still ok imho):

Or one at 1/100 (focus on the eye):

only posting the link, due to high resolution.

Tonight in the dark and rain I took my 135L to do some street photography.

Now I'm not used to street photography - I'll struggle for confidence to use the 35mm.. but I enjoyed this set

excellent photos with the 135L, I don't understand when people say that you can't use a 135mm for street photography. You can use whatever lens you want, the 135L isn't going to put the scene out of context if you use it correctly.

And sebosalvatore, incredible portraits, gosh the 135L is sooooooo sharp and accurate.

@dancook, great street photography with the 135!
