it depends on which one you want...

but there is a book called How to Wow that is excellent and comes with a CD for photoshop that has a bunch of really neat borders...but I am sure others have ideas as well...

Cheers,

Try this. The techniques here can be used to create all sorts of edges. You have to play with them to find what you like.

Here's a serious quick and dirty juob using this technique...by quick I mean less than 5 min. [edit] and another one...this one I spent a little more time on. It was done with painting in quickmask mode, charcoal filter, and gaussian blur.

Take a look at onOne Software (formerly Extensis) PhotoFrame plug-in:

Might try Auto FX PGE - or find an old print/neg to scan.

I like the idea of scanning actual negatives. Just don't know were to find them.

Used book stores, antique stores, family albums. Heavily damaged items will sell pretty cheaply - and are well suited for a scan since the edges last longer than the image. People often throw these out because they no longer know who the people are in albums for someone died without family. I have enjoyed digging around looking for treasures.

Not as available as they used to be, but still out there. I actually have found that the files on the internet are very good and the work is already done.

I came across those about a year ago when looking for borders, and I like them all, but they're too small for my needs. they look bad if you upsize them too much.

Anyone know how to create this effect? I've browsed the website he gave us but it doesn't describe how to make the borders black. Keep in mind that I'm a total PS n00b so step by step instructions would undoubtedly help me (hopefully).

Thanks in advance.
