Although AMA Superbikes are the premier class, the Daytona Sportbike class often has closer racing among a larger group of riders. Here are a few of the top riders I captured this past weekend at Road Atlanta.
Martin Cardenas (#36), took 2 wins and is the odds on favorite to win the class this year.

Tommy Hayden had 2 podium finishes. Not bad for a fill in rider!

Dane Westby (#5) also had 2 podium finishes. Seen here trailing Melissa Paris (wife of Josh Hayes).

Jake Zemke finished 4th in both races.

Cory West placed 5th in the 1st race but crashed in race 2. Here being trailed in Turn 10B by series rookie JD Beach.

Bobby Fong had 2 6th place finishes and certainly had a great paint job!

Jason DiSalvo is a consistent frontrunner in this class, but had mechanical troubles in both races.

Benny Solis ran hard in 4th place in the 1st race until a next-to-last lap crash ended his hopes for that race.
