So last week I had a spastic fit of buying, and grabbed a 5D mkIII, and I needed to see how it would work with fast moving subjects so I drove up to BEAUTIFUL Fontana, CA. Well, its pretty when you can see the mountains through the smog and haze.

I am pretty happy with how she worked. The focus is pretty darn good. I miss the reach of the 7D though.

I used my 400mm 5.6 which really means only the center point is super rad for focusing, but the outer points didn't seen to do too bad of a job.

I shot a little higher shutter speed than I might normally, just to see how sharp the thing was and not try to blame my own shortcomings on it. haha.

But, after using it for a few days, I want two more. I can't have two more, but I want em!

thanks, that turn seems to have developed a bump over the years, and 911's like to do that anyway so it makes for a good shot! :)

needs moar blur. 1/160 is a little fast. doesn't that corner have a 50 mph or 60 mph exit speed?

I did that on purpose testing the camera out, as I mentioned. And it seems like people like crazy sharp over a little extra motion blur anyways.

Push yourself.

Get your 'safe' images, then stretch your legs :)

True true, I normally am good about doing that (like at the nascar nationwide race I got some neat wide angle super slow shutter shots). I guess I was all locked on worrying about the new body.

What's your thoughts on the 5D Mark iii vs the 7d besides the reach? I have a 7d and a 5d Mark ii and was thinking about trading them both in for a 5D Mark iii as it seems it combines the best of both worlds.

Obviously the shutter speed is slower, which sucks but not TOO big of a deal. The color is better with the 5D III. Really, I need to do another day where I am not spending SO much time with the 5D III, give each equal billing. But, I wouldn't mind being stuck with just my 5D MKIII.
