If I had one, I'd sell for $2000, buy a Mk2 and sell it for $4000, buy a Mk3 and sell it for $8000, and finally buy a 1dX.

Someone did something like that where he traded something of little value for something else. I can't remember what it was but he kept doing that until he ended up with something worth a great deal more.

Didn't he start off with a large paperclip and eventually work his way up to property? I remember reading about him a few years ago.

I'm not proud of it but when I was just 18 or 19 (28 now) and I wanted to sell a paintball gun and it wasn't going for the bids that I wanted I just called a friend or two and asked them to bump the price up and if they won we just swap positive feedback and no one is the wiser. I believe that happens more often than not.

That's paintball, EVERYONE lowballs the hell out of the markers. That is why I still have a Tippman X5, SP Nerve, and Ego Aurora SL74. Want to get rid of them since I rarely play but on the other hand, just way too many lowball offers.

It's amazing the price fall on markers. I had a $900 Angel and it was about 5-6 months later and it was only worth $400. If I ever got back into paintball I'd just buy an 05 or 06 ego and I'd be happy. And I'd get it for dirt cheap.

Some people do that to get to power seller status faster, you have to have 100 sales and over $3000 sold in 12 months time to become one.

I wish I got to see the look on his face when he had to pony up the $159.03 ebay/paypal fees. I bet he didn't see that one comming.

The worst part of this is there were at least three people that were willing to overpay.

I'm betting it was his own accounts or friends bidding, and he figured he would just mark it paid and shipped not realizing about the fees.

What they often do is cancel the sale for non payment afterwards which prevents having to pay the fees.
