16GB or 32GB CF card

Is it better to use 16 or 32GB card ? would the 32 GB breakdown fast thus lose data?

I prefer (2) 16GB cards so as to not pull all my eggs in one basket.

I think with the 1D4 you should be fine working with 16GB cards.

Use the 32GB x 2 in redundancy mode. That's why you have dual card slots.

I always go with the biggest I can afford.

I use a pair of Lexar 32GB cards for either camera body. The card with the files stands safe in the camera body or in the reader (being dumped). The last thing I want to do in the field is change cards and run the risk of losing one. So far, I have not exceeded a 32GB card in one day of shooting.

Oh man, totally forgot about that, the 1D4 has dual memory card slots. Well OP theres your answer right there! Buy two and run redundant if youre worried about it!

Are you going to fill a 16GB card in a day? If yes, then get a 32 GB card. CF card failure is extremely rare for decent quality cards. Losing a CF card that isn't in the camera is a lot more common.
