Mike Deep wrote in post #14522825 I like the idea of a running lightning thread, let's keep this going. ![]() ![]() Davis (Fred)

The 3rd is a cool capture, bolt from the blue. Shawnc wrote in post #14986636 I played around a little bit a few years back. I really enjoyed the surprisies I found when getting home from shooting lightning and loading them into the computer to see what I captured. 1. ![]() ![]() ![]() Davis (Fred)

That one was shot at 35mm, so needless to say, was definately a close strike. When I do these shots I just basically open the shutter and get distracted with other things until I close the shutter. Oct 08, 2012 22:35 | #57 I don't know if this counts, but due to problems with the long exposure doing a dark frame removal at every picture, I was missing many lightning bolts. So, I opted to use video and extract the frames from that. You may say that it's kind of cheating, but I did get some decent results I think. Here is one of the captures. The photo on the Flickr page Canon Powershot S95, Canon EOS 1000D attached to Skywatcher Explorer 150P on an EQ-3 unguided mount.

I wonder if the video editors on The Titanic ever went, "Sorry, I can't right now. I'm busy synching the Titanic..."
