A very arbitrary grouping of Canon's most expensive lenses. I hope nobody wants to shoot sports at f/2.8 or needs anything longer than 35mm in low-light.

Saturnalia for all you have.

Silly website. You shoot with what you have and with the look you want. 14mm on a full frame for landscape? Yeah, unless you are shooting at the foot the mountain.

Yes every beginner should start out with an f/1.2 lens because managing DOF is cake!

Kind of off the wall....the suggestions didn't make a whole lot of sense.

The funniest suggestions are from MWAC Attack.

I was most amused by it because it was linked from my local camera club's facebook page. A group that is full of impressionable amateurs.

Want to be a wedding photographer? Well...you should probably grab a $5000 fixed focal length 200mm lens and a normal-wide tilt-shift. Easiest way to break into the biz...

Some pretty off the wall suggestions there. Sure hope it was an April Fool's joke.

Landscape, the suggestions were 14L and 90mm TS-E? Really? The whole list is a joke. For portraits, 85L and 17-55 both in the same breath?

Low light suggestions; 24mm tilt shift f/3.5? What does a tilt shift have to do with low light?, you want larger aperture period, the rest is situational.

Beginner lens a 50mm 1.2? really, not the 1.8 or the 1.4 for a beginner  I'll take that with my beginner 1dx and a box of tear away business cards.

I'm surprised he didn't suggest the 8-15mm fisheye for birds in flight.

Another day, another ridiculous "advice" blog.

Sadly we're just adding fuel to the fire by following links like these...

1dx for a beginner? are you serious!?!

I thought you'd want a H4D-60 at a minimum for a beginner :p:p:p

H4D's incredible detail is only for if you feel like you can't capture any detail at all. 1dx should be fine to start out with! You can gradually go to cheaper and worse quality cameras as you improve.
