Yeah, It's been discussed in some other threads. I think the consensus is that it sucks that it is so big but a great lens otherwise. Pretty competitive price and nice zoom range on APS-C.

ALthough I kind of wish they'd have gone 45-140 or something just a tad wider for ~70mm equivalent instead of 80.

Ya... not much lighter than full blown 70-200 f2.8 lenses! Almost 3 pounds!

Rumor has it that the Lens body is identical for the 50-150 OS and 70-200 OS lenses and only the elements are different. Likely as a cost saving measure.
