Hello there, I have been away from POTN for a while now, a few years and even went shooting Nikon for a long while. Back and forth with being 'into' it and disheartened. I have just sold up all my gear (again) for the second time but think I have made a mistake and considering buying Canon again. Anyway, would like some feedback on a recent shoot from a couple of weeks back to see if I am headed in the right direction. Also looking for another forum where I can post more and improve. This was my first time shooting a 'proper' model, although I have done people shots before.

All using natural light this set. Purposely edited for the warmer look.....

Honestly I think sometimes staying away from the forums can do more to improve your photography than anything else. It forces you to realize how much time you actually are spending taking pictures and how much time you are reading about taking pictures. You grow more by shooting than disucssing how to shoot.

You have a good eye, are very skilled, and have a style that is certainly pleasing to look at. Don't worry about the gear and for heavens sake don't ask for advice about gear selection in a forum because you will get sucked right into thinking it all about the gear! LOL

Thanks for sharing...

John

they all look great.

why do you feel you made a mistake selling the nikon gear? i like my canon gear, but do you rthink it might be you just want a different toy while playing? ;)

iv noticed that i grow alot faster when using proper models also. they help open my eyes to some looks and ideas that have not yet enlightened myself with just yet.

Thanks guys for the comments. (I really need to learn how to do the multiple quote thing).

Thanks John, I think you made some valid points there.

Rick - Thanks a lot. :)

MrClark - I feel I made a mistake selling my gear period, regardless of make. But your right, maybe something different for a change. I know the gear doesn't make the photographer, but it is nice to have nice things if you can. And your right, proper models make the world of difference. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

Nice model and set of images. I love window light. #4 for the win as well.

It doesn't matter what brand you shoot, everyone seems welcome here!

Thanks for taking the time to comment folks. (please tell me how I multi-quote)

Hopefully will be taking and posting more soon if I manage to get some new gear, as I am currently camera-less. :(

These are fantastic, I would definitely look into re-acquiring a camera.
