Great to see a "full breeding plumage" goldie.... Gorgeous shot, I think this is the first one with colors like this on the spring forum... I have had only one show up around here last week since Nov/Dec and she had no start of gold at all.

wow, stunning pic of the AG! great job Harv. i am on the lookout for them, I saw one that I think is in full breeding plumage too, it was a tough decision between the rufous and the AG :) I decided to go for the rufous but I will be stalking the AG very soon.

... does it really matter?i see with my eyes, i shoot with my fingers.

Very nice. We had them here all winter long. First year I had seen that. They love the black oil sunflower seeds as well. THis winter they didn't touch the thistle seed just the sunseeds but this spring they are consuming the thistle as well

Now that's a real beauty shot Harv,

I believe we have several down here now which are full-tilt yellow, but we have a tough time getting such a lovely capture of any of them.

excellent image,

Kenn

A handsome credit to his species, beautiful shot Harv. I only get a glimpse of these birds each spring, they don't stay long.

Beautiful! I see them while walking my dog along the Humber River here in Toronto, but I've never photographed one. This morning instead of birds, we were treated to a coyote that my dog scared off.

Wow! I'm overwhelmed by the number of great comments from all of you who have visited. I apologize for being so long in getting back to respond to your comments but rest assured they are all appreciated.

As I mentioned in another thread, I have been busy shooting most weekends since motocross season has begun. Typically I shoot both days on the weekend plus end up spending a lot of time early in the week dealing with 2,500 - 3,000 images typically shot at the races. I do this on a volunteer basis for the race organizers and the riders and they are always looking for their photos to be posted early in the week following the races.

Once again, thanks for all the great comments.

:)
