Does anyone using the new Canon 5D MKIII use Lightroom 3 or Photoshop CS5 to process their RAW files? If LR3 and PS CS5 presently don't read the MKIII raw files is there a free upgrade coming for these two products or would a purchase to LR4 and/or CS6 be required. Thanks.

You'll find this topic beat to death about a month ago (I know., because I started it) ... According to Adobe, LR3 will NOT be getting an upgrade to support RAW images from the 5DM3. I had to upgrade my OS to Windows 7 so that I could upgrade to LR4 ... So if you're already at Windows 7 (or maybe Vista???), you can do just the upgrade to LR4 for $80. (ALR4 will not run on XP)

Download free Adobe DNG converter. After converting the files load then into LR3 as DNG files.

LR4 won't run on XP? That stinks since XP is what I presently use.

MrGooch's advice works well. This happens with every upgrade- It seems to be Adobe's way of making us keep pace with our new cameras by buying new software. I've been in the habit of converting to DNG ever since my 40D files could not be read by CS2. Just this past weekend, I had a second shooter using his own gear, and I discovered that LR3 wouldn't read the files from his T3i. Converting to DNG may have other benefits as well, but it works well for this issue too.
