I'll check with the banker (the better half) - its actually for my 40th, plus any money saved could go to a 5D3 as well.

Is it really that much of a jump as I'm not sure I can see it in the lens archives - in fact to my eyes the HSM II looks better, but then I'm not seeing the original files, nor meeting the people who are taking them and certainly haven;t tried either\both.
