Not sure if I have posted this one or not. Been out shooting a lot lately, but not much luck in keepers for some reason. May have a bit to do with becoming more and more critical of what I call keeper. A lot of my shots suddenly sucked after getting this one.

The black borders are removed for printing. Gonna print this sucker 8 feet wide for my next gallery showing. :D

Great shot! I'm sure this will get a lot of interest at your next galley show. :D
Are those sand patterns or wave ripples in the foreground?

Those are sand formations with ground water coming in from the forest. I've visited just about every sandy beach on the West Coast, and this is the only one I know of that has these formations along with a gloss of water. Some other beaches have the formations, but no ground water to make it reflective.

Awesome shot, Johan. I see you're still wading out into the surf to get these incredible shots. I was just wondering yesterday where you've been. Haven't seen many images from you in the 10-22 forum lately.

Thanks man. Unfortunately I no longer own a 10-22 or 60D. I now work with a 5d2 and 16-35II. Huge downgrade in useability, but I needed the small bump in image quality and especially cleaner ISO for going up to 800. Bumping up the ISO is absolutely critical for making large panoramas go faster when working with shutter speeds of 3 seconds or longer.

I can believe that. So have you been posting in the 16-35mm forum? If so, I'll have to start checking it.

Huge downgrade in useability...

And a lot more money in the drink if you happen to lose your footing while wading around.:p

You'll have to just check my flickr page from time to time. I don't post in the 16-35II thread at all.

Yes, I am very fortunate to have never dunked myself into the Ocean. Only a matter of time though, so I should get myself some camera insurance before my next trip out.

One word sums it up: AWESOME. KUDOS to you, Johan.
