So why a revision? Was there something wrong with the original one?

Owners had to tighten it so much that it was marking the camera surface. The bracket was not completely molded to the new curved edges of the 5D3.

I ordered and cancelled the original one when I read about the issue here. Will now reorder.

I have one in order since March 28th. I just called yesterday and they said they will no longer ship the old version, only the revision A. No need to cancel order and go back to the end of the queue.

My 5DIII and the L plate are both on back order. Seems like I will get the L plate long before the camera body.

ordered one back in early april, I wonder how much longer I'll have to wait. All I know is using a non L-bracket is making me appreciate them that much more!

There was a problem with the first revision and RRS recalled them all. If you have ordered the original one and haven't received it yet, you'll get revised version.

Oh my. Glad I did not get one. :)

Are the issues now taken care of? I assume so.

I have the gripped version on pre-order, but I kind of want to use my 5DIII with an L-plate at this very moment in time, so I may just order the non-gripped L-plate and sell it later when I finally have the BG-E11 in hand (along with the appropriate L-plate).
