need advice for a new compact (4 my girlfriend's family)

Need a little help here, I didn't have my hand on the pulse of digital compact photography industry for a long time... so no idea what has changed, what is good, and not...

Budget is limited to 160 Euros, I need good all around compact that will last.

The IXUS 220 (ELPH 300 elsewhere) is a great little compact,
mostly for fully automatic operation with good image quality.
If I see correctly, it fits the budget exactly, and I can't think
of a better camera for general family use in that price range.

I bought the Ixus 220HS last year, it is a fantastic Camera, great Photos, Full HD Video and good in low light.
It is small enough you can slip it into a pocket and almost forget its there, I take it with me most of the time.
