Snafu - that's a yellow-headed blackbird. I've heard they frequent our area but had never actually seen one before yesterday. Pretty little thing.

Very nice; we had the yellow-heads for a number of years, but now just the red-wings. We're just on the edge of the yellow-head range. Well done.

Thanks - I don't believe we've ever seen a RWBB at our house, but down the hill and about a mile west they are fairly common. It's interesting how well defined their zones can be.

Thanks for looking - I was at the refuge yesterday and there was a yellow-headed blackbird in about the same spot. Only seen them one at a time and always in the same spot. I'm beginning to think it's the only one.:lol:

These are great Dave, very nice exposure on the blacks...and I would love to see one of the yellow headed black birds around here.
