Canon DSLR Speed Challenge #237 - AN EGG

Submit an image of AN EGG. You all have fine cameras and probably an egg in the fridge so will be starting off on a level playing field - unless by chance you happen to have an egg pic on file. The challenge is limited only by your imagination.

This challenge begins when posted, and will end at 3 pm Pacific Daylight Time Saturday May 5, 2012. Winner of this challenge will be announced shortly thereafter.

Standard Rules apply:
Photo Submissions:

1. Camera - Any Canon DSLR Camera
2. Time - any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.
3. Size - Please visit Image Posting Rules.
4. Post-Processing - do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.
5. Posting - * ONE PHOTO per photographer in each challenge.* Photo Name in the message subject line.* Camera model & lens used.* Notes -- post brief EXIF data including ISO, shutter speed and aperture used.
6. Commenting - No commenting during challenge. When the posting is closed and a winner has been declared, comments can be made in this thread.
7. Keep it clean, and both Family and Work-safe.
8. Have questions, PM me.
9. Have FUN!

One challenge every week, on the following schedule:

* New Topic - After winner is declared.
* Posting Starts - Right after topic is announced.

Thanks, you guys! This challenge is now closed and for once I have no difficulty in announcing the winner right away.

First: MAUREEN - Making Breakfast. I suspect this superb photo posted soon after the challenge opened led some people to give up trying to compete. If it was on display in a gallery I think people would have a field day reading all sorts of symbolism into it but I'll leave that to others. Congratulations!

Third: Who else but Phil for his Tragedy? I really appreciate the effort you put into this cute shot.

So over to you, Maureen, and I hope you have better luck attracting more entries next week.

Teekay, I wish more people had joined in this week as I thought the subject matter quite simple . I will get a challenge up later tonight; still recovering from the Kentucky derby party I went to today.

WTG Mo... Great shot and challenge. I ran outta time. The last half of the week just got SO busy for me though I don't thing I could have done it better than Maureen anyway. Great take on the subject.

Where did everybody go?

Maureen, a slap on the back for a crackin' good photograph. Teekay, I spent an hour walking a couple eggs about the house and yard doing shoots. I had a good time doing so and here some other images I was pondering as entries.

Kevan I really like #2. The different textures and tones are really working.

Allen, that was my wife's vote too.

Kevan I like the warm and cool color tones in the rocks and the contrast that the only pure white egg makes against those color tones. Not only with the different texture but the white of the egg against those color tones and the strikingly different shape of the egg from the rocks also bring the eye to the object that is drastically different .

WTG Mo! I have had company all week, so time has been sporadic at best!

Wow, those were awesome entries. I feel sorry for what that poor judge had to deal with in making a decision with those entries.

The 'before' photos that I took while we set up this shoot were my favorite part. We decided to take the middle leaf out of the table so Skip could be my black background. Thought you might get a chuckle out of him climbing in....
