I can't believe I didn't find this forum earlier. This is an incredible wealth of knowledge!
The Video:
Canon SD750 + CHDK: MKII VW GTI TDI Swap Time Lapse Video![]()
The Freeware:
I used the following free software to put this together:
CHDK to hack my Canon SD750 and run an intervalometer script (Sunset4) to capture pictures at set intervals (5 seconds)
FastStone Photo Resizer to resize all 14,000 photos. 2084x1536 to 1920x1440 (maintain aspect ratio), then crop 1920x1440 to 1920x1080 (1080P size), and add the www.FRANKENBUILT.com
text to the lower right corner.
MakeAVI.exe to combine the pictures into videos for each camera setup/angle at 30fps using Indeo5 codec
Audacity to edit the royalty free music form www.MattMcfralnd.com
into one track that was the right length for the video and export it as a .wav
Debugmode WAX 2.0 to stitch all the videos together with fading transitions and add the music. The video was exported 1280x720 and 25fps in order to get the file below 2.0GB for Youtube.
Anybody have any input on other Freeware out there that would make this process simpler? faster? Maybe some software worth buying?
I learned a lot doing this - and one interesting thing to note is how hot the camera got after running so long. There are a few things I know I would do differently - like no white shirt.
And what's you opinion on the video? What could I do next time to make a better video?
Thanks!
I thought that you did a good job with it, but expect that most 'normal' people will say that it ran too long.
