I made slide shows on ProShow Gold 2.5 and it looks great on one of my laptops. I made Executables and Auto Run CDs. After completion I run it on the same laptop and it works great.

Then...here's the problem, I take it CD to another laptop (same equivalent in specs) and the music does not work (sounds like a skipping CD) and the photos are in poor resolution.

Any ideas? Anyone encountered this before?

I'm no expert because i only just got the program, but encounted the similar problem you have with another program. It turned out that when i burnt the cd or dvd it would burn at maximum speed which it could play but on other cd or dvd players it would look terrible . Try burning at a lower speed if it allows?

Thanks for the quick response. I am going to try your suggestion.

Any other suggestions are also welcomed. Thanks.

could it be running the show off the software on your laptop but when on a loptop with out the software installed you get a bad view?? meaning, because you have the software on your comp.. it plays fine but if the other comp does not have the program, it wont play.. try unloading your software and playing it. or you recorded it wrong.. maybe.Im stumped!

Just finished testing out your suggestion. That did not work either. :(

Unfortunately, that's not the case. Both laptops have the same application loaded and besides the show was in .exe format. I'm stumped too! This is killing me; I have lost 8 CDs already! :(

sorry, can't help with the cause, but any more than two dud cd burns & I switch to a cd-rewritable. It's usually slower, but it's far less wasteful. I keep one or two in my laptop bag with various useful programs/service packs on them & delete then re-use if I have to do a "special" project.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

I got a laptop not too long ago and encountered problems similiar to yours, but not specifically with ProShow Gold file playback. I think I "fixed" my problem by turning off the laptops wireless capability which seemed to grab processor time away from playback of a video file on a CD. It may be you have something running in the background that does the same. You might also try loading the executable to the laptops hard drive and see if it plays differently there.
As for why the resolution may not be up to expectations, that I don't know.

I've produced quite a few shows with ProShow Gold and I really like the program. I only wish there were better online help and FAQ's for troubleshooting at their site.

Megapixels and high ISO are a digital photographers heroin. Once you have a little, you just want more and more. It doesn't stop until your bank account is run dry.

I have found that different media records differently. Sorta like using HP paper with canon ink. I had a problem like this with media I bought at Sams club. Changed media and it helped...for me.

Edits welcomed, please post what you did.

I am using Verbatim CDs, supposedly one of the better brands. The laptops are IBM and Dell. MP3s and all other items record fine and play fine on both laptops. I have an email out to Photodex support for help.

Anyone else with any possible solutions?

Try it on a 3rd machine, I suspect it's some software on the 2nd laptop causing the problem. Is the machine well specced? Try it on as many machines as you can get your hands on. It's almost certianly not an issue with the media.

Tim, I want you to know that after I saw your wedding shoot on Proshow, I loved it and got the software. Have not regreted it. Now if I can just get it to work on my other laptops.

I will try your recommendation. Thanks.

Good to hear that I inspired you ;) :) Go watch some of the featured shows on photodex.com, mark ridout especially is a genius with proshow (he uses producer).
