Most of the time, no. The umbrella usually wraps around the subject and the light falls on the background.
However, there are times when I have to light up the background. Rarely, but sometimes it's nt an option.

Hehe, I might check it out. I haven't been to the Costa Mesa Mitsuwa since the Irvine one opened. I was there (Irvine) the day Daiso had its grand opening, but the line was way too long, so I didn't bother. But I did get to check Daiso out on a different day.

Kinokuniya on Harbor is moving inside the CM Mitsuwa apparently!

i never knew about daiso until a friend posted pic of the long line :P still its nothing much. lots of $1 store in japan that i got to experience so this was nothing interesting to me <-- concieted

that is funny about kinokuniya. i think the two book stores are not doing well. kinokuniya was originally located inside cm mitsuwa until they felt the need to expand and moved out. i guess the anime/manga mainstream/population has died down. hmmm...
