Most wedding photographers charge a helluva lot more than that. The woman who did my sisters wedding charged like $5k

I know a few decent wedding photographers who use multiple bodies with a few G/L lenses and they charge 2-3k.
But 5K is a little too much for wedding photography....

I'm well aware of that, which is what I said and I quote "only $600?!"

I told my neighbor I'd charge roughly $800.

Depending on packages, no it isn't. Obviously if it's a base price it is, but if you get a whole package deal that's pretty standard at least from what I have seen.

Don't look at me. She got who she wanted. Didn't ask for my input. Didn't bother spending money on a videographer either. I ended up doing it with my 7d + 24-70 + 70-200 II. Made things kind of difficult considering I was also a groomsman.

Never happy are ya? Negative Nancy over here!

Wow, so I can only imagine what can happen in one summer. That's pretty crazy though, I gotta get on the ball and start rolling with wedding photography.

Trust me, you don’t wanna get into weddings lol... I wanna quit and at the same time I want to earn some money from shooting.
Unless you make around 1k a week from your regular job, you will take a looong time to invest into as much gear as I did in less than a year.

I haven't had that bad of a flare on any lens

here's one of the worst I got  24-70mm
QUOTED IMAGE

The focal length can make a difference... wider lenses are going to suffer from flare more than longer focal lengths. The longer the focal length the easier it is to change framing and such.

Worst flare I've ever gotten with a 24-70.

Yes but that's not nearly as brutal as the shot Elijah posted.

Dang... that’s hard. But I agree, you can film with a dSLR and a few primes and get same quality as pro HDV’s. Obviously not as much bells and whistles as HDV’s but it does the job.

I mean I will say that flare at the bottom of the 11-16 is hideous... it really is.

But... eh... for most stuff it can be somewhat avoided, at least to that extent.

Oh, I do want to get into them. I have this summer and next summer and then I'm pretty much done until I'm done with college. So I just want to make money instead of working at a supermarket. Anything's better than dealing with rude rich snoobish people who shop where I work. Even if I have to photography them at least I'm doing something I like.
