Dang... that’s hard. But I agree, you can film with a dSLR and a few primes and get same quality as pro HDV’s. Obviously not as much bells and whistles as HDV’s but it does the job.

It was on the beach though, so audio was mostly ruined. Had a rode microphone with a wind blocker, and it still didn't do the job. I tested it the day before, but I guess I wasn't standing far enough back.

I'm well aware of that, which is what I said and I quote "only $600?!"

I told my neighbor I'd charge roughly $800.

I surely hope Mr. Murphy doesn't come a knockin'. :(

I mean I will say that flare at the bottom of the 11-16 is hideous... it really is.

But... eh... for most stuff it can be somewhat avoided, at least to that extent.

like, don't shoot into the sun :p

The focal length can make a difference... wider lenses are going to suffer from flare more than longer focal lengths. The longer the focal length the easier it is to change framing and such.

Yes but that's not nearly as brutal as the shot Elijah posted.

Oh definitely not as brutal!

I'm only jealous of your strobe/flashes in this shot ;)

Si, es muy caliente! Al menos para mi. Yo quiero temperaturas en los sesentas.

Pardon my horrid spanish, I almost failed out last year and I'm a bit rusty

You did pretty damn good! Hopefully the weather stays around low 70's as a high :D

I'd be leaving it at home. It doesn't weight much, but over that many miles, it makes a difference.
