I had a 3 hour window this morning before having to do a few chores around the house.
I loaded my equipment and headed to small local spot.
On the way there I spotted this Eastern Towhee:
Not more than a couple miles up the road from there I spotted a flash of red. I waited patiently along side the road and out popped this little bugger!

I finally arrived at my original destination, I set up my blind and waited patiently.
It was only 54 degrees out, but with the sun hitting the side of my blind, it got warm in there pretty quick.
Suddenly, the silence was broken by Blue Jays calling relentlessly.
I could here the rukus, but could not locate them.
I poked my head out of the blind for a quick look and was quickly greeted by a Barred Owl which had landed in a nearby pine.
I poked my head back into the blind and managed to angle my lens through the opening in the blind and capture this image of the owl.

Best bit of birding I have had in quite some time.
