I do a lot of day hikes looking for birds to photograph but it's not easy. Every once in a while a bird will let me get close enough for an attempt at a pic. Here's one of those. It's sort of taken from the wrong end(the butt) but it's all I could get.

Thanks for looking, C&C appreciated.

Still a very pretty shot, Claude. I don't mind butt shots as they show a great deal of the bird's patternation.

He is still very pretty from behind Claude, and when you're chasing that's a common perspective.
I think this perspective does a great job of showing the identifying marks as well as the beauty of the feathers on the back. I think Sparrows have some of the prettiest back feathers out there. Nicely done!

Thanks to all for the nice comments. I think I like trying to get the pic as much as taking the pic.

Good shot, nothing wrong with the position of the bird, after all how many images of models do we see giving the 'over the shoulder look'. Birds are our models.

Beautiful capture Claude. You are raising the bar for colour and clarity with this one.

At least hes looking at you.

The unobtrusive trunk and branch/perch make for a lovely composition.
