I think that #2 is very effective. At least, in terms of lighting and exposure. Composition doesn't seem too off, but maybe experiment with different crops. Aside from that, #2 is good. Very nice lighting, nice edge definition and showing the shape of the bottle. My one biggest little peeve...the lighting looks good, except right on a tiny portion of the front of the bottle. And it's only a problem there because part of the labelling seems to be sitting atop metallic paint (or something), and that strip of paint (or whatever) is preventing the backlighting from getting through. As a result, part of the lebel is VERY hard to read.
Aside from that, nice job.
Number 1 really just needs to be better lit. LOTS of the edges just blend in with the black background, to the point where I can barely even see what shape the bottle is. I love the neon green against the black, and I think that the water drops look good. But it's just not working. I'm not saying that you can't have ANYTHING obscuring ANY part of the product. But you sort of want people to at least be able to see enough so that they can recognize it when they see it on a store's shelf. Here there's just way too much that's being obscured. Yes, the emphasis on the neon green words is nicely done, but this picture ALSO just needs more attention to the actual edge definition of the bottle.
