I'm sorry if I'm asking in the wrong area. Can I pay for an item with PayPal even if I don't sign up for an account?

Can I buy a members item from here who will only take PayPal by going to the PayPal site and use my credit card?

I hope I'm being clear. Again I have no idea where to actually ask this. I figured a seller here would surely know.

Thanks.

No, you need to sign up and get a PayPal account. You can bill you account to a credit card or bank account.

Yes, the seller can send you an invoice by email and you can checkout with a credit card using that invoice. You do not need a paypal account to do this.

Disclaimer: I have not used this feature in a couple of years; hopefully it still exists.

When I have sold via PayPal, I ask for a direct bank-to-PayPal transfer that is verified by PayPal and that I can download to my bank right away. I've never had a credit card payment and don't know how it works, and how much risk there is to me or extra hassle.

when funded by credit card you have the nuclear option of a credit card chargeback if things go really south and paypal is unable to help you but paypal really doesn't like it when you do that

Just make sure you don't use my account by mistake - there seem to be a few of us around :)
