Then come join me for an exclusive night shoot at the old Texas State Railroad. This Saturday (May 5th), we'll be doing a fully staged night shoot using vintage steam locomotives (that will be fired up and running too) in a great setting with people in period costumes etc..

Of course this Saturday is also going to be the largest full moon of the year; so it's going to be perfect setting to capture some really great old trains in the perfect setting. As a bonus, after the main shoot, we'll be heading into the train graveyard where there are tons of older trains and cars from all periods, that you can explore and shoot.

It's going to be awesome and if you're in the East Texas area, I highly encourage you to come out and play.

That sounds like fun! But get a jump on it & shoot earlier, too, because some of the best "night shots" I've seen were taken before it's totally dark while there's still some light left in the sky. You don't need much, but you need some.
Look at the difference between the first & 2nd shots here: Ships at Dusk

Yes I agree. Railfest runs all weekend, and the scheduled night shoot will start at about 8:30, but everyone will have run of the grounds all day long. The trains will be running their full routes all day, with many datime shoots planned over bridges, etc.. I'm really only involved with the night shoot though, but the whole event is going to be really fun. 8-)

Been there, done that. It is a very nice trip by train. Unfortunately, I have a prior commitment for the weekend. Would be nice to hit the third leg of the American Heritage Railway Group. GSMRR is just down the road from here and I did the D&S on the great train safari of 2009.
