Cheetah Stand Beauty Dish? or any other BD to use with my speedlites?

I'm interested in trying out beauty dishes with my 580EXIIs and Phottix Odins. I came across the following Cheetah Stand brand BD.

http://www.cheetahstand.com …ed-Pro-16%22-White/Detail (external link)

Does anyone have any experience with this BD and the speed pro bracket? How well does this work?

Can I use speedlites with Mola Setti or Kacey? Or do they not have enough power? If power is not really a problem, can I use the Cheetah Stand speed pro bracket (so that I can use 580EXII and Odins together) with either BD?

The speed pro bracket has a Bowens "S" connector. So, you can use it with any modifier that has an S type adapter. Or that can have an S adapter inserted into its speedring.

Kacey makes his own speedlite adapter for his beauty dish which much sturdier than the speed pro.

Its also about 3 times the price.

Thanks for the information. I am definitely interested in the Kacey BD, and just sent an email to them to find out which parts I would actually need to make it work.

BTW, do speedlights have enough power to use with Kacey 22"? I'd think 16" would be more suited for a single speedlight? unless I use at least a double speedlight configuration?

I use the Fotodiox 28" BD with Bowen's mount along with a Adorama Flashpoint speed bracket. This combination alows me to use a speedlight along the axis of the BD

Yes, you can definitely use a Kacey BD with a single Speedlite.

Thank you for the recommendations, but I think I'm leaning towards the Kacey dish setup.

Thank you for the confirmation. So, from below Kacey website which parts do I need in order to have my 580EXII and Phottix Odin to work together? I'm thinking I'd need the 1) reflector ($143) and 2) single speedlight bracket ($136), but what else would I need? Do I need the grip bracket, cold shoe adapter, and etc...?

I just ordered a single speed light configuration for the Kacey 22" BD I bought from a POTN user.
I'll post a picture of the whole setup with Phottix Odin and 580EXII once everything comes in. I plan to use this beauty dish for weddings. Can't wait!

I don’t see a lot of people shooting with Phottix Odin system and a Beauty Dish so I kinda took the risk... hopefully the setup will work. And it’ll help you decide whether to get one or not :D

Here it is :) Just came in today. Can’t wait to use it!
As you can see, no problems with using Phottix Odin transceivers...

Thanks so much Elijah!! I really appreciate you taking time to take the photos. I am now wondering if one speedlite does have enough power.. If you don't mind, I'd love to hear about your experience with this setup.

One speedlight may not be enough for overpowering the sun.. but it is plenty powerful for indoor portraits. I use a 28" BD, and use Canon 430EXII, and I had it at 1/2 power for a F8 shot.
