My favorite lens on my 40D was the 17-55 f/2.8. If you have no plans to go FF then you can sell your 24-105L for the 17-55.

So, I am in the same boat as you.

I want to go to weddings and I think I need a nice prime and I'm considering the 85mm f/1.8 for that purpose and eventually the Sigma 30 so I have a 30 50 85 plus Tamron and 10-22.

What did you end up doing? How did you like the 17-55? I love my 17-50 Tamron. Just got it, and I'm amazed at the quality.
