hi,

so I have been thinking of getting a 1dmk ii ''idx eventually'' for bird photography, so should I sell my t2i and get the 1dmkii? Should i expect less detail in images because of the 1DMK II Low mega pixels? Or will i be better-off getting a 7D instead?

Lens? What lens you have for bird photography? 400mm and longer is generally recommended.

The 1DMkII is a huge step up in autofocus performance and frame rate, which would server you much better than the added Mp of the T2i. However, you will absolutely hate the tiny low-res LCD on the MkII compared to the T2i.

Getting used to the Smaller LCD would require some time, but I think the faster AF and the burst rate would make for that, no?

No. You'll trade some differential advantages for others but you won't realize a "wow" improvement.

I'd work a plan for the 7D. Better yet, a long lens if you're looking at birding. I still use my T2i / Sigma 150-500 combo quite a bit. Lightweight, sharp.

....the best camera is the one you have on you at the time.

The MkIIN has a larger LCD, and a slightly larger buffer. Other than that it's the same as the MkII. They are a bit more expensive, but as far as I know Canon is still servicing the MkIIN whereas the MkII has reached end-of-life status and is no longer serviced by Canon.
