Was fortunate enough to be able to get out and shoot a killer four band local show for Nuvo newsweekly (Indianapolis' music rag) at the legendary Vogue Nightclub. The bill featured Eyes On Fire, Kramus, Breakdown Kings and Recoil.

Fair criticism, I'm still finding my way as a concert photographer. This would be the 3rd show I've ever shot. Thanks!

as a serial "tilted shot" music photographer myself, i will say not to forgo adding some some angle as a rule - i find it can definitely make some potentially boring shots much more dynamic. also, it can lead to some tighter crops. like image seven if you didn't add the tilt would have led to a boring shot of a guy just standing there with a lot of dead space.

keep up the good work.

Thanks for the compliment. I think you're dead on with the " i find it can definitely make some potentially boring shots much more dynamic." bit. A vast majority of the tilt for these images were people's hands, arms, phones, etc. blocking a more "traditional" viewpoint.

Nice shots. I definitely think the tilt is useful. But on something like #5, I find it pretty distracting since it's a very dramatic tilt (45°?) and there's not much action/drama in the picture. I think it works on #7 because his head lean almost makes the guitar vertical - the same as his perspective and the picture's perspective.

Nice shots. I'm embarassed to say that I've never been to the Vogue and I've lived in the Indy area for my whole life.
