There's no path going anywhere that doesn't have the occasional pothole and brambles, so lets stay on the road and laugh together over the adversities, 'cause they are all only snags and trips along the way to that greatest image in the sky.

Its not a competition. Both are great cameras. Both are highly complex products that are almost certain to have teething issues.

Please. I shoot to shoot Canon and now moved to Nikon.

Apparently not moved enough by it. Otherwise you wouldn't be "checking facebook of your ex to see how she's doing" ;)

I guess someone is a little testy today. You would think that $500 you saved would make you a little more happy... or did you just realize that you made a big mistake leaving Canon and that's why you're here... and a little moody?

I never looked back.

But it's clear you guys are overly sensitive.

Please. I'd still choose the $3000 D800 over a $3500 Mark III that's taped up.

Taped up, but not locking up.

Because I can. Deal with it.

Ah, it's like telling others to click "ignore this user", right ?

Maybe they should add another link- "ignore all Nikon owners".. It'd make threads like this much shorter... ;)

Maybe he's pissed that his D800 is locking up? Remember that light leak issue with the nikon 24-70, wonder if they taped that too lol.

Looks like the Nikon D800 and D4 are having multiple issues. Here is the link to an Endgadget post about it. Of course just like the 5DIII "problem", it doesn't mean that these aren't awesome cameras.

First of all, the "source" is questionable. Why a company would "admit" a problem so quickly? and tell you what they are doing... Just not like any big company will do.

2ndly, even if those "issues" are indeed true, based on the descriptions, they seem some kind of software glitch, which a firmware update can certainly take care of.

You realize there's tape elsewhere in the camera by design don't you... And probably tape serving the same purposes in Nikons.

Maybe Nikon can fix the locking up with some tape.
