I was in my local camera store picking up some prints and I asked the salesman how the 10D's were selling. He said great and he actually had one on the shelf. I already have one, but when he said that the boss had ordered 5 and the other store had sold 4 of them at a special price of $1389, I had to buy the last one for that price. My wife, waiting in the car wasn't too happy. Well, having a D30, D60 and 2 -10Ds is getting a little out of hand for a part time professional...full time teacher. So, I guess the D30 and D60 will have to go on Ebay after finals are over. Thought some of you may find the story interesting. 10D's must be a little more plentiful now. Anyone else finding them on shelves like I did. I'm in Illinois bordering on Iowa......Moline(Home of John Deere)

You are actually very lucky.

In Europe, we must pay from 1800 to 2400 Euro....
And 1 Euro is ~ 1$ (maybe little lower)

I've tried looking up the camera body on Dell Website but its not listed. How did you find it? Or did you just ask a rep? thanks Brian

I don't want this to look like a marketplace item and I am so appreciative of Pekka's wonderful forum. I have learned a lot and hopefully have helped others. I found my first 10D source on line in this forum and hope others can find sources through this forum.
Contact me privately for more information on the price of the D30 or I will put it on the marketplace part of the forum if anyone would be interested.. thanks Brian

Got it, it is not listed on the web site, you must call and ask, then, you need to have some type of employee purchase plan or school affiliation or some such discount program. I actually think that part is bunk, because they never ask for a code or numbers, the guy I talked to worked with me for a while and got me the price in a few moments. The discount is 10%. They only take orders when they know they will have the camera's soon, 2 weeks or so.

Hope this helps!

Heres the best uk deal, available before the end of August.

Subscribe to EOS-Magazine for £16.95, in the currect issue they are running a promotion for £100 of 10D and £100 of any other EF lens.

look around and print off some internet pages where you see them cheapist (uk.pricerunner.com shows the lowest uk price to be £1206.41 today.

Call your local jessops and get them to price match, most will do this (infact jessops are listed at £1249 which is £150 less than their website?)

Brings the camera down to £1109.41, i'm looking for a 50mm 1.4 lens which I should be able to pick up for around £250 after rebate.

Note quite as good as in the US but the best deal I know off in the UK.
