Its been a while since I have posted here. Its also been a while since I have used my camera! Well I finally got out with it and have some new shots. I like this photo of my friend for what it is. It is nothing special but I enjoy it. However, I think it has more potential so I am looking for some creative input from you fine people. What can you think of to improve this? Feel free to make your own edits. This example is SOOC with subtle changes to the tone curve to bring out details.

I was trying to go for some sort of off-color/split tone/desaturated/etc kind of result in Lightroom but I just couldn't find something that worked and that I liked but I think someone else out there could figure something out.

And while we're at it...C&C is more than welcome! Thanks.

Its cute. I think I would have rather seen her feet together. Also looks like she is pulling her shirt down.. Hands may have been better somewhere else. Maybe a gaze up at the clouds. Colors arent really popping either. It has a nice overall feel to me.

Thank you. I notice all those things. We were just walking the trail. As it was not a planned thing and we both liked the picture I will just work with what I have.

I agree with Racinghart, she looks to be adjusting the shirt which kinda draws the eye to that area (and other nice elements in that reigon) haha, but I would almost like to see it framed with her coming towards the camera. Good job though! will look good with some processing.

I'd saturate it a lot to emphasize a setting sun.
And I think you have two large dust-bunnies on your sensor. One just upper left of center, and one in the upper right near the edge.

I get the impression that the art of subtly doesn't exist in some folks.

The things you do for yourself die with you, the things you do for others live forever.

tmoore thanks for you thoughts. I will play around with some crops. Its a bit too contrasty for me though.

Qbx I'll play around with that idea. I think the example you gave is a little too punchy though. I was trying to accentuate the sunset with a warmer tone and that seems to work.

Flynnstone you have something there that I like.

Thanks so far everyone. Keep em coming!

My idea. Just softened the foreground and left the sky/girl a little punchier.
