This guy was waiting in the middle of my street when I got home from work.
Shot with a SX120IS and ran through PhotoCleaner really quickly.

I nearly ran over him coming around my turn but I saw him in time to go around and get out to snap some shots. The big zoom came in handy today.

Like them both - how close did you get? Not sure if you have gopher or bull snakes in OK, maybe both species?

I really don't know what species it is. I see a lot of snakes and other creatures out here but I've never taken the time to learn about them.

I was probably about 6' away and if I was guessing the snake was probably 5 feet long if it were stretched out.

I just called animal control to come pick this one up because I'm in town and really had no idea what else to do with it. I'm not much of an animal killer although I'm sure they did.

Hard to tell from the angles, but it looks like its nonpoisonous. Animal control, depending on the species will usually take them to an area to release them.

I was just thinking about trying to find some snakes to shoot. Awesome shots you got of this guy.

Around me, snakes in the road are significantly flatter.
