Leaving Sunday morning headed to New Orleans, cruise from there to Key West, Freeport & Nassau, one week trip. I guess I'm taking all my gear. Any ideas of do's & don'ts or what to shoot? It's my first cruise, really don't know what to expect.

My other recollection was that depending on the excursion you do, esp if its a beach, the "locker" you rent on the beach may not inspire confidence for securing L lenses. May 04, 2012 22:08 | #4 when I travel I usually rent a smaller camera like a Fuji X100 or an Olympus EP3 or Sony NEX model, simply because it's smaller and I'm on vacation so the last thing I want to do is lug around more crap than I already have to. And if it's stolen, it's insured and it's not my camera. http://emjfotografi.com/

I never took the 24-70mm off the camera. In Freeport I would do the kayaking tour in lucayan national park. They give you dry bags to put the gear in, and you can buy the tickets on the cruise line. You kayak through mangroves and end up at the beach where pirates of the Caribbean was filmed. Its in the top ten beautiful beaches in the world. Overall Freeport isn't good, but if you take an excursion down to that park it's well worth it. Best beach I've ever seen. Ever changing.

In fact, all that I would take from your kit is the camera, the 24-105 and the flash. Canon EOS 7D | EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM | EF-S 55-250mm f/4.0-5.6 IS |
