An up close and personal with a duck that is as common as weeds. But what beauty!

Thanks Rick - they are really amazing colors and textures. And I don't give my 70-200 enough time without the 2X extender.

Thanks Sharon - he almost was in my lap. He may have been injured as he was in the parking lot of the refuge when we pulled in. He certainly wasn't all that concerned with us being up close to him.

Love those close ups, excellent shots, very nice IQ. I like the feather detail just as much as the first, Well done!

Thanks 2slo - this guy was a sad case. Not sure if he was injured, old, or tired (I can at times relate to any and all of those) but he started to come right over to me in the parking lot at the refuge. Saw him a bit later swimming in the nearest pond and he seemed a bit happier.
