Hi

i'm using photoshop cs5 and i'm using cs6 trial

well i can't store my camera calibration to default

in the camera raw preferences i set enabled make default spefic to camera serial ON

i delete all the xmp sidecar files

i load a 5d mark 2 raw file, in default setting
i changed only camera calibration setting
i changed ->
camera profile -> Neutral
process -> 2003

after i did save camera new raw default

but when i load a raw image camera raw doesn't load my default settings (for example processing is always to 2012 in cs5 and cs6)

what's wrong?

thanks
cheers

Why on earth would you want to set PV2003 as default when PV2012 is so much better?

Anyway, gave it a try and indeed the PV won't stick as a default. It's "translated" to PV2012 settings.
Might be a bug, might be a feature. Don't know. You could ask Adobe.

But frankly, I'd stick with PV2012.

Do you realize that if you switch to PV 2003 then all of your development tools will revert to the old (LR1) version?

Not a slowdown, but a bit of a lag in the rendering, but not enough to bother me much

do you mean when you zoom in do you notice a lag?

by the way , do you think have a big monitor could slow down ?

thanks
cheers

Well, if say I zoom to 100% it takes just a brief bit to "crystallize". By "brief", I mean barely enough to notice, but it seems like it's a bit longer than I remember LR3 taking, but I haven't even started LR3 since I've had LR4...

Anyway the only time it affects me is if I'm quickly moving through images and marking them as Picks or Rejects. And, like I said, the lag is quite brief.

by the way , do you think have a big monitor could slow down ?

I really don't know any "under the hood" stuff about that. For example, I'd imagine that it would have to do with your graphics card, and whether LR uses the card enough to be slowed down by the monitor activity, and I just don't know, maybe others do.

thanks
cheers

Cheers back at you!

It's almost instantaneous on mine, even on my old XP machine.

Resolution is 1920x1080. My XP machine is ancient - single core with hyper thread.

CS5 and CS6-beta (2012) on the XP machine. CS6 (2012) on the Win7. I don't use LR.

If you are frustrated by the time it takes Lightroom to render the 100% preview image, do the rendering in bulk at a time when you are away from the computer. Then the preview will pop into place when you click zoom.
