5D Mark III +24-105mm +580EXII +32GB/SD on eBay at BeachCamera $4229

i left my phone at home today when i went to the gym and when i came back it said deal alert.

i was like crap i missed the 2500 kit deal again.

then i saw it was the 5dm3. I was going to get it just to flip the body and flash. 4229-3350-350 = 530 for new lens. haha

or keep the body and sell lens/flash = 3000 for 5dm3.

It's likely legit. They run these deals a lot, where they have a limited number of bodies at a low price, usually as an eBay Deal of the Day promo or something along those lines. Items i've seen in the past:

5D mkii w/24-105 - $2499 (I think)
5D mkii body = $1799
7D body $1199

Yes, they are very authorized, I can vouch for their authorized dealer status The CF pins in my 5D mkii got bent and had to be sent to Canon along with the beach receipt and warranty card, no complaints from Canon.

If past listings are any indication, BeachCamera will continue to have these sort of "sale". So for those who missed it, i wouldn't worry about it.

Whats strange was that when this deal was live, i searched through their ebay listing (tag: EOS Canon Mark III) but couldn't find it.

What could this mean?

5d iii is limited supply so dont think we'll see it soon. i hope so though, cant believe i missed this!

Yes Beach has had some Hot Ebay sales. This WAS a great deal for the 40 people that got to buy the kit!

EBay must chip in and reimburse (or give kick-backs) to Beach Camera for offering these deals. EBay probably does it to generate publicity/traffic. If EBay wasn't chipping in, Beach Camera would be losing money off this deal with little to no gain.

The last 3 times it was $2,449 for 5d2 + 24-105. I bought 2 of those 3 times, and could have pulled the trigger on 3rd, but hadn't sold anything yet.. lol.

I think the 5d2+24-70 for 2,599 was hotter though. The 24-70 has a much better resale value. I only saw it once though.
