So sports is my main subject, but I grew up on 80's metal, and couldn't pass up the chance to see George Lynch. Club was small, I was just about right up to the stage (was sandwiched), and stuck with a 50 1.4, so shots are a bit close.

And again, I stress, that sports is my main thing... but I love shooting anything once, twice if I like it...

Let me know.... :)

Thanks, much appreciated. I hated the fact that I had just sold my 24-70 last Friday. Didn't realize I'd need it and would have waited to sell it. Oh well. I think I did better than I thought I'd do anyway.

Ken nice work. i like 1, 3 and 5 the best. the focal length definitely made for some constraints but you did good job.

the suspended ceiling in #2 needs to be removed by the club. doesn't really scream 'rock'...more like 'elks lodge'

Thanks Narlus! Still a little upset that I sold my 24-70 last week... that's why I was stuck with my 50 1.4. And yea, I agree with the ceiling.

The stage was about 3 feet above the floor, and the drummer's stand was about 3-4 feet high, so it was hard to get the drummer clearly because of being hidden by the gear. The opening acts loved the pics I took of them, so maybe I'll switch to music... Nah... Sports first, but music might be close behind, we'll see..

Thanks!!

Funny... I took the pics for my enjoyment, but i emailed the club to have them look at them... they are asking how much I want for them, and said I can shoot whatever shows I want and they'll get me in... wasn't prepared for that!

So what do I charge? Or is that a question for the business forum??

$50, +1s and drink tickets.

Nice shots, especially using just a prime without a pit to move around.

I love the drummer one with the reflection in the bass drum.

$50 per shot, I assume? And I don't drink, so free soda then? :) I want to make money but don't want to scare them off either.

Thanks. I like that one too. I didn't notice his reflection until I was in post, a lucky shot I guess... I'm not good enough to plan shots like that yet.

I would price it per show with an understanding beforehand of how many photos they will be receiving. Also depends on what the photo rights situation would be. Are you giving them these photos outright, to use in any way they see fit? Are they for strictly editorial and non-commercial use? I know what I would charge, but that isn't really going to help you because every situation is different.

Thanks Tom and joeblack. He had a fan blowing up from in front of his pedal board, but damned if I could find it.... lol... I was literally 2 inches from the stage and I was looking around and couldn't see a fan anywhere. I do like the fan blowing though, since the other shots has his hair covering his face.
