Hello All,

I need a 50mm lens to do portraits and bokeh photography and I'm on a low budget since I'm a newbie. I came across this lens and the reviews in amazon are pretty good.

Have any body try this lens? This is in my budget :)

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens. I bought the same lens from the same place and I like it a lot. A great value - the performance far supasses the price.

I (and many others here) own it, and it's definitely a bang for the buck! It has some slight drawbacks (such as cheap build, inconsistent low-light AF and "harsh" bokeh), but for the price, there's none like it.. I like it a lot! :)

If you want a more detailed review, I recommend checking out http://www.dpreview.com …iews/canon_50_1p8_ii_c16/ (external link)

@Erikfig the 50mm 1.8 is one of the best primes you can get for the money great for low light super sharp cheap build but one of the best this is my number one right now for low light the IQ should blow you away ...

They made the nifty 50 (50 1.8) just for you - and lots of other people.

Great lens. Consider the 50mm f/1.4 if you want a little more durability for a few hundred dollars more.
