BigAl-SA wrote: Great shot(s) Brian! Does it matter to the stereo effect that the left image is sharper than the right? (remember I can't see the 3D) No it's interesting going 3-D seems to focus stack the images for you- obviously it's not ideal though. I have in fact tried two focus stack shots using the same method and it works- the brain seems to put them together in one focus stacked image but no 3D of course. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lordv/

I do them in PS- I just play around with the two pics until Im happy with an approximate framing on both and checked the 3-D looks good. I then crop the LH pic ,copy it, paste it on the other, turn the layer opacity to 50% and align the copy on the 2nd pic and then use that to crop the second pic. Delete the layer. Then go to the LH pic increase the canvas width by about 103% with the original on the LHS of the frame then copy and paste the RH pic on to the new widened frame and leave a gap in the middle. (note for cross eye stereograms the LH and RH pics referred to here will have originally been the other way round when taken (ie you swap over the LH and RH pics). http://www.flickr.com/photos/lordv/
