So when it comes to flash, I am a complete noob  I'm looking to get a Yongnuo YN560 II Flash Speedlite. It seems like an affordable, strong flash that wouldn't be too bad to start with. I'm looking to be able to use it wirelessly with my T2i and was wondering if I needed anything other than the flash to be able to do so.

You will still need a trigger of some sort. You can get a long ETTL cable from Lon at FlashZebra, this will give you inexpensive off camera ETTL capabilities, or you can go for an aftermarket triggerset like the Pixel Kings. If you don't need ETTL you can get even cheaper alternatives like the Cactus V5s.
edit: these seem pretty afordable and versatile: http://www.amazon.com …TF8&qid=1336533763&sr=8-5 (external link)
I have no experience with them however.

i think the yn560 has an optical trigger so you can fire it with your oncamera flash

you can get triggers as well - i still use my yongnuo rf603's from time to time and they work great

You can definitely trigger the 560 with the pop up flash as I just popped two 560's with the flash on my 20d earlier this evening. It's a fun flash and you might want to also look at the 565 if your budget permits.

Thanks for the quick help guys, obviously I plan on learning as I have the flash. I just went ahead and ordered the YN560 and the rf603's. Hopefully this turns out for the best lol

I think you will find the YN-560 doesn't have ETTL, it is manual flash with adjustable ZOOM and Power adjustment refer to http://www.hkyongnuo.com/e-detail.php?ID=275 (external link)
