cloud on mountian top

this is of the cloud ontop of the mountain , it was taken in scotland , i was trying to bring out the cloud , so i metered on the cloud above the mountain and recomposed , i think thats how its meant to be done , ISO 100 , 1/400 , f 5.6 , 28mm
c & C appriciated for when i return i want to scotland i want to get better results .

p.s this is the jpeg , i have still to work out the best way to alter my raw images

Your stated purpose to bring out the clouds is exactly what you did, and the result is a 'moody' picture, probably what you intended. When faced with clouds like these you might try an HDR technique which would enable you to bring out more detail of the scene and still show the clouds as ominous.

Thankyou all for your comments , i have yet to understand HDR , still learning how to take pictures rather than edit , but i will look it up .
