Wait, you want to upgrade because the 10-22 isn't wide enough for you?

I was excited to upgrade way above my intended budget because I thought that with FF I would finaly be able to get a real 10-22mm shot without cropping (because I realy only shoot Interiors with any seriousness). Even if I decided to spend on a new lens as well as a new camera, seems I will not be able to get wider - find it almost beyond believe that Cannon dont have a 10-22mm type of lens for FF. They do. It's called the EF 16-35. That is exactly the same range on a FF as the 10-22 is on a 1.6 crop. Exactly (ok 22mm is FF equivalent of 35.2mm on the long end). Rick

There is a Sigma 12-24mm but but now feel im getting out of my depth in new kit when i have a very good lens already. Have to think about this. Maybe do back to my 60D original idea. Ho-hum! For 5d3 you can get Canon EF 8-15mm f4 L fisheye which is wider than 10-22 but it costs $1500. Bodies: 5DIII MkIII/ R5 mirrorles

FF will give you better image quality, noise control and depth of field than your current camera. Yes you will have to upgrade your lens also, but think of it like this, you probably won't be upgrading that lens for a very long time. Ewan

May 09, 2012 22:07 | #21 timnosenzo wrote in post #14405433 Yeah, I know it can be made to work - but IMO it doesn't make sense to modify a $700 lens to work in a fairly limited capacity (and can risk damaging a $3400 camera) when you could sell that lens and buy something like a 17-40 that is completely compatible. i've got a 17-40 and 10-22, the 17-40 is a not a 10-22. It's good, but it's not that good.

Heard that it only causes vignetting from another source but isn't that easy to remove with software? Have my upgrading dreams been dashed? If so do they have an EF wide lens (arrgh the cost!) I am actually confused by your request. Please don't be insulted, but I'm surprised to find that someone who is already a Canon user and has developed the skills to upgrade to a high end and expensive body like the 5D3 didn't know that Ef-S lenses are only compatible with cropped frame Canon bodies. I realize some folks don't want to be bothered by technical details, but using a high end camera like the 5D3 is all about technical details. Mark

May 10, 2012 01:59 | #26 If you only shoot interiors seriously why not do the job properly and get a used 5D Mk11 and a 24mm TS-E.That should cost about the same as a 5DMk111 and will do a far better job for interiors-it what it is intended for Chris

I bought my 350D 7 years ago when all this was new to me. So I have long since forgot about all those EF details as I have not needed a new lens all these years. And my interest is only in Interior photography for my job. My good old 350D
