All shot last Sunday afternoon in my backyard, during the 2 hours or so the sun accepted to show up...
C&C welcome.

Let's start off with a classic view of a Titmouse ready to take off with a gorgeous peanut:

Same with a Nuthatch just taking off - not so sharp, but I like it

Exceptionally this female Cardinal was not interested by the peanuts, preferring to feed on some seeds high in the tree (long distance pic, a tad soft)

The Starling was more interested in some kind of green caterpillar, whose family had a bad afternoon as you will see

Even this smallish ?? (ID please, is it a female House Finch?) fed on the green stuff, as was the Sparrow that follows

And the winner of the mouthful contest is...

Thanks for looking.

Nice set. I would say #5 is a female sparrow.

Hahahaha super cool series with good captions :)
Surely robin beats any bird here. You have to invite blue jays for peanuts eating contest in the future ;) I would like to see that.

Thanks for the comment.
Blue Jays were invited - but only one showed up and I was too close for him - he didn't dare come to shooting distance.
