With my sister's 30D and a 10-22.
Pulled out the kneeler, steadied the cam on the elbow rest,
shot six shots, three and three.

All in all a decent shot. Don't know how large (prominent) the kneeler was, but if substantial, you're a master in PS. Good job there.

The reflection in the framed print to left distracts me. Eyes keep going over there because it's a bright spot.

A little distortion - best seen at the base of the rope stand at right. But then that's the nature of the 10-22 which can produce some radical wides.

How did it look when cloning out the rope which hangs down from center to the left? Sort of skews the comp to me because the contrast between it and the brighter bkg makes it very prominent.

Thanks for the input. What I should have said more clearly was I physically pulled the kneeler out of the shot and used it as an impromptu tripod. The funkiness of the rope is natural. I agree completely; I didn't notice the glare till I got home; should have rotated the portrait. Also the distortion of Fr. Foley's photo is made worse by the fact that I shot with the sensor plane not parallel to the back wall so I did a little perspective adjustment to try to square it up. These adjustments distorted the photo more than normal. Time to go back to Pittsburgh for a reshoot!
